Student Activities

Mentorship programme is initiated by the institute where a group of 7-8 students are provided mentors for their guiding them to overcome their difficulties in studies or in their personal issues. This programme helps to make a good rapport among students and faculties. At IMR, mentorship and counselling is provided to the students right from their decision of choosing specializations. The students are also counselled for the right career. The faculty members and class coordinators help students by showing them their potentialities. Thus choosing career becomes easier for the students. We guide students in preparation of their CV and how to perform in the selection process of the organizations.

Skill Development Programme

Skill development programme is initiated by the institute in the year 2008-09 where a group of 30 students are provided faculties of various skills like Aptitude ability , interview techniques , communication skills, General awareness, Industrial information, Business skills, IT& Programming skills for their guiding and providing latest information them to overcome their difficulties and it helps to improve their personality and skills which are necessary part of corporate world.


Every year Annual Social Gathering "ZEAL" is celebrated which consists of cultural program, management games and sports activity.

Students enjoyed Cricket, Vollyball, Tug of War, Management games including Business Quiz, Treasure hunt, Photographic Imgage competetion and finally cultural program comprising Dance, Fashion Show, Solo Song, Group Song etc.

Zeal 2017 rolled for 3 days and students participated whole heartly in this mega event. Prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners and runnerups.

Function was followed by refreshment.

Six Sigma Yellow Belt Program

IMR conducted a one day Six-Sigma Yellow Belt Program for MBA Part-I student. The Objectives of the program were

  To understand why an organizations launches Six-Sigma.
  To understand the flow of the DMAIC methodology for process improvement.
  To know relevant tools.
  To know when and in what context to use the DMAIC methodology & tools.

At the end of programme participant were given Yellow-Belt certificates.

Industrial and Social Institution Visit

As part of our student development activities, IMR organizes number of Industrial visits to various top class organizations, which provide the opportunity to the students to observe and study the various practices, systems and work culture in world class organizations. It helps the students in increasing their practical knowledge and it also helps them in planning the future path for their career. So far we have organized industrial visits at various reputed organizations such as Wheels India LTD., Bharat Forge, Suzulon, Universal Construction Equipment Ltd., Tata Yazaki Ltd., Volkswagen, JNPT- Mumbai. This year an Industrial visit was organized at PARI Robotics Ltd., Shirwal on 14’th of October 2016.

Pari Robotics Limited An Industrial visit was organized by Shri Shivaji Maratha Society’s institute of Management and Research at PARI Robotics Limited on 14/10/2016. About 35 students had participated in this visit. In this visit 4 faculty members and some non teaching staff members had accompanied the students. The Incharge Director Dr. Prajkta Warale, The Placement Incharge Prof. Mayuresh Ghare, Prof. Rajesh Hukre and Dr. Nutan Pasalkar had participated in this Visit.

Prof. Mayuresh Ghare communicated with Dr. Uday Bhosale (HR head of PARI Robotics Ltd.) and gained the company’s approval for this industrial Visit. He also contacted the students and explained them the registration process for this visit. A bus was arranged for the transportation of all the students and staff members.

The In charge Director Dr. Prajkta Warale gave all the necessary instructions about the Industrial visit to the students and informed the students about the code of conduct and the necessary precautions to be taken during the visit.

On the day of visit, the students gathered at the institute premises and the bus left the institute premises at 8.30 am. The bus reached the company premises at 10.30 am along with the students and the staff members. After reaching the company all the senior officers and Managers in the company welcomed and greeted the students and staff members.

After that the students were divided into two batches and they were given complete information about the various departments, the methods and procedures and the future plan of action by the organization. During this interaction the students were given complete information about the manufacturing department and the assembly section, in the organization. The students also got the opportunity to observe the functioning of the Marketing, HR, Finance, operations and other departments in the organization.

During this entire process the faculty members provided the necessary guidance to the students and helped them in understanding the various processes and systems in the organization.

During the visit the students contacted the heads of various units and gained complete information about the functioning of these units. The unit heads also cooperated very well and clarified all the queries raised by the students.

After completing the entire process the students and faculty members left the company at 2 pm. On the way back the students and faculty members had lunch at a Hotel located near the high way and at 3 pm the bus left the hotel. The bus came back to the institute at 4.30 pm.

This visit provided the opportunity to the students to observe and study the various practices and activities in a world class organization. It also helped the students in increasing their practical knowledge and planning the future path for their career. The entire student enjoyed this visit and the visit was concluded in an enthusiastic and disciplined manner.

House Journal

To encourage our students for research we have started our own house Journal ? Anveshan? . This journal showcases articles and papers written by our students and our faculty members.

Social activities

We believe that today?s students also need to have social quotient. So we arrange various social activities like Blood Donation Camp, Tree Plantation and Visit to NGO etc. It is observed that apart from studies social activities enhance student personality.

Blood Donation Camp
As a part of social responsibility, IMR organizes various social activities like tree plantation, blood donation camp, rally on Shivjayanti etc. every year. On 26th Jan, IMR organizes Blood Donation Camp in association with Acharya Anandrishiji Pune Blood Bank.

Appreciation certificates and blood donation card awarded to all donors. These cards can be used for their near and dear ones for two years for getting free of cost blood. At the end of camp, the institute also awarded by certificate on account of arrangement of such noble, social activity.

Computer Literacy Programme
As a part of social responsibility, IMR has organised four days workshop on Computer Literacy programme for house wives during this programme theoretical as well as practical knowledge related to basics of computer technology, MS-Office , Internet and its uses in daily life has provided by the faculty of IMR.
